I was commissioned to create two large collage murals for the Brooks showroom this week in Paris. I was given a collection of vintage Brooks ads and two really big spaces to fill. I dove into the history of Brooks and the imagery of the Pacific Northwest, Seattle and Mount Rainier and blended nature imagery with the idea of engaging with the wild through the lens of running and outdoor experiences. Big thank you to Reed for the opportunity and Brooks for the trust.

Collage Workshop
Dewey Saunders is best known for his collage style and album cover artwork for artists such as Anderson .Paak, Future and more. In this collage workshop, Dewey will personally lead you through the steps to make a paper collage by hand. We will leaf through vintage magazines and books, cut out images and paste them into your artwork. You will be guided through each stage and assisted in creating your collage art. This session is great for people of any skill or age - this is a crash course in paper collage that is fun for everyone. Whether you are a budding creative, a seasoned artist or somebody with creative inklings - this workshop is for you. Materials provided.

Mental Vacation is a solo exhibition by Dewey Saunders featuring large colorful collages and paintings of sunsets and palm trees. The psychedelic undertones, inviting color fields and bizarre juxtapositions create a body of work that feels like a trippy dream or a hallucination caused by a strange brew. The simplistic palm tree paintings balance the maximalist mixed media approach in a series that feels like a long weekend in Los Angeles and Palm Springs. The artwork feels retro and modern, with his signature Southern California imagery creating a cohesive bed of visuals for the viewer to take a mental vacation of their own. For the collage pieces, Dewey was provided with giant photographs to collage onto by Christopher Details, which takes the paper collage medium to the next level in terms of scale and complexity and giving the art room to breathe and the elements to mingle freely across space and time.
